After learning about Picasso this week, students played a dice game in Miss Archibee's Studio in Art! Given a sheet of paper with facial features, students rolled a number that told them which style to add to their piece. They cut their results out of cardboard, painted with watercolor, and added finishing touches with oil pastel. Come see more work by the Studio in Art students on Wednesday, May 14th at the K-12 Art Show in the High School Auditorium Foyer from 6:00-8:00PM!

Children's Book Week 2025 is this week (May 5-11)!
Thanks to Dr. Baker, the CMS Library has a poster to mark the occasion!
The slogan this year is "An Ocean of Stories".

The Camden unified basketball team held its home opener against New Hartford on Thursday, May 8th. The Blue Devils locked up a 44-29 win over the Spartans, led by Jayden Osborne's 24 points. Stephen Parry finished with 14 points of his own. Other key contributions came from Peter Trautner, Charles Vaillancourt, and Angelina Kersey!
The Unified Basketball program has become a favorite within our school community, and with great reason. Held in conjunction with NYSPHSAA and Special Olympics New York, Unified Sports empower all students to be part of a team's success. Students with and without disabilities partner together to build skills, have fun, observe the highest standard of sportsmanship and pursue a common goal. And if you've never been to a game, the enthusiasm is truly infectious.
The Blue Devils are headed to Central Valley Academy today for a 4:30 PM tipoff. They also visit Whitesboro on Tuesday. You can see the team in action at home as they celebrate senior day on Thursday, May 15th against Oneida. That game tips off at 4 PM.
On Thursday, May 9th, the Camden softball program celebrated its class
of 2025 with the annual senior day observance. Ahead of a 25-0 win over Holland Patent, the Blue Devils recognized Camryn Shenk and Kendall Musch for their contributions to the program.
In this matchup, the seniors certainly were a part of the show. Shenk homered and tripled en route to five runs scored and four runs batted in. Musch hit three doubles and added a triple while also scoring three runs. In the circle, Abby Hebble rang up five Golden Knight
hitters on strikes, and Aubree Turk struck out four in relief. The Blue Devils' pitching duo combined for a two hit shutout.
Both senior athletes on the team are bound for Division I programs in
the fall of 2025. Camryn is headed to Le Moyne, and Kendall will lace
up the cleats for St. Bonaventure.

District Statement - May 7th, 2025
We are proud of the high-quality opportunities we provide for our children in the Camden Central School District. Of equal importance is sharing information about how those opportunities are provided to our students and families. Therefore, we would like to address rumors related to missing money, which have circulated throughout the community.
The District is unaware of, and has no knowledge of, any missing money. The District has internal and external auditors who monitor our finances, and we are currently working with the Office of the New York State Comptroller on a focused audit.
The current deficit we are projecting in our proposed budget is solely due to rising operational costs and decreasing revenues. We are working with our Budget Committee, administration, staff, financial advisors, and the Board of Education to address the deficit through reductions in all areas of the budget, while preserving the exceptional learning opportunities throughout the school year which our students and community are proud of and deserve.
With our community’s support, and the dedication of our faculty and staff, our schools stand as places of tremendous opportunity, with programs as unique as the aspirations of our students. Through our shared commitment to our students, the Camden Central School District will continue to be an exceptional place to learn and grow.
Down to two days! We have two performances: Friday at 7, and Saturday at 7. Free admission.
Come support the CHS Drama Club!
