This morning at approximately 7:30, Camden High School experienced a malfunction with its lockdown alarm system, which inadvertently activated lockdown procedures. Because it was arrival time and there was no imminent danger, our bus-riding students were held on the bus where they could be accounted for in a climate-controlled and secure location until we could disarm the system.
Our staff, students, and law enforcement personnel responded quickly, everyone followed the directions given, and did a fantastic job commensurate with what we would expect in a lockdown scenario. It took just a few minutes to disarm the system so that the day could begin. At no time was anyone in danger.
We will be working to address the malfunction within the system as soon as possible. Please be advised that elementary bus runs may be a few minutes behind schedule this morning. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Nothing gets you into the spirit of the season like a good holiday concert..... Luckily for us, McConnellsville Elementary put on two performances on Tuesday!
Tuesday's McConnellsville Elementary School concerts concluded with the traditional sing-along portion of the program. This year's selection, Jingle Bells, featured some guest bell-ringers that included Principal Heidi Allen, and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ravo Root, who presided over his final elementary holiday concerts with the District this season.
