Superheroes, Supervillains, an Ear of Corn, and just about everything in between! Our Camden Elementary School students were not short on ideas during Thursday's Halloween Parade!

There's no argument here..... It's time to get on with the show!
Friday is opening night for the Camden High School Drama Club's fall production, Emily Bronte: Teenage Ghost Hunter! Seasonally spooky laughs will be abundant in this family friendly horror comedy written by Don Zioldis.
Friday's show starts at 7 PM, and admission is free! Costumes are encouraged for children, who can trick or treat with the cast after the show!
This show is produced under license with Playscripts, Inc.

It's one thing to look the part. It's another to invest in it and play the role.

Students at Camden Middle School completed their annual observance of Red Ribbon Week from October 23rd to 31st. This year’s theme was “Life is a movie. Film Drug-Free.” The event highlights the importance of living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, and presents a vital opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year.
During Red Ribbon Week, youth and adults around the nation pledge to increase their knowledge by learning more about the destructive effects of drug abuse, including prescription drug misuse. At CMS, students also renew their commitment to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle by signing the Red Ribbon Week Pledge Banner outside of the cafeteria.

Happy Halloween from the staff at McConnellsville!

Happy halloween from Mrs. Zoldi's third grade class!!!!

He's not just any pumpkin..... He's the GREAT pumpkin!

Students in Miss Archibee's art class took on a little competition for Halloween! Each student was given 1oz. of white model magic to transform into a spooky sculpture. Guest judges came in all day to pick their favorite masterpiece. Winners received a chocolate bar and photo op to showcase their talent!
After seeing these, we're REALLY looking forward to seeing what kind of sculpture work we see at the district art show this spring!

We've been working on building a bigger and better McConnellsville Elementary School, so it was only fitting that today, Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Williamson, and Mrs. Rounds dressed up as construction workers! Their outfits featured blue hard hats and custom McConnellsville branded safety vests!

Some of the many cool characters we've seen today from the Camden CSD Transportation Department!

Just a few more days of collecting for the Pennies for Puppies/Coins for Kitties drive! Can you help the McVille Third Grade IFA Reading Group reach their new goal of $750? Send in some spare change tomorrow or Monday, and let's see how far we get to help the Humane Society of Rome!

While National School Bus Safety week has ended, the conversation about it continues.
On Tuesday, members of our Camden CSD transportation team made their way to Camden Elementary School for a day-long series of bus safety assemblies with our students!
Among the topics covered were loading and unloading, and positive bus behavior! We had some volunteers come up front to demonstrate.
Remember the following safety tips:
-Stay back until the bus has come to a complete stop and the bus doors have opened. The recommended distance is at least ten feet from the curb or white line.
-If crossing the street, wait for the bus driver's signal to do so.
-Look both ways when boarding, and when crossing.
-The bus driver will be watching for potential hazards. If you hear a horn from the bus, get back immediately.
-Use the handrails when loading and unloading the bus.
-Do not stop in the road to pick up a dropped item when boarding the bus. The size of the bus can make it difficult to see you. Finish crossing and alert the driver for next steps.
-When on the bus, stay in your seat and keep your hands to yourself. Face the front of the bus, keep the aisles clear, and talk quietly.
When students keep these tips in mind, they go a long way toward ensuring a safe ride for everybody!
Thanks to Connected Community Schools for helping to put the pieces in place for this event!

Mrs. Malenowski's third grade IFA reading group is soaring past their goals for this year's Pennies for Puppies, Coins for Kitties initiative!
