One of our favorite parts about the First Day of School is taking a step back to digest how quickly the children of our staff members are growing. Because it sure happens fast. You've seen a few others already today, but we've got plenty more including:

Happy First Day of School from our own Mickey Barrett and members of our CCSD Transportation Team! This group was at the garage bright and early to get ready to roll, and they'll do so again and again throughout the school year with the same mission - getting our kids to and from school safely! In a typical year, the team combines to drive about a million miles in total.

Our 2025 Summer Food Service Program has wrapped up, and the numbers are in!
Through the participation of the community, and the work of our team, we were able to serve 10,000 meals to children from July 7th to August 22nd. Thank you to the awesome members of our CCSD Food Service team that made it all happen this summer!

Staff, students, and families flocked to get a glimpse of the new year at last night's Open House events at Camden Elementary School and McConnellsville Elementary School! We saw bright smiles from our students as they saw their desk space for the year, and our families and staff wasted little to no time building relationships that will last throughout the year and beyond!

Get your cameras ready, folks! The first day of school is Thursday, and we love sharing as many first day pictures as we can get. If you'd like to submit some this year, send them along via email to camdenphotos@camdencsd.org
Whether it's celebrating the first day of school for your child(ren), or you're an employee or student excited about your upcoming year, it's all welcome here!
Submission Guidelines:
- JPEG, PNG, or HEIC files will work. Generally anything taken with a typical phone or camera works!
- While we know that it is a very popular trend right now, we ask, that you please keep pictures with signs containing information about your child to a minimum in anything that you submit, if possible.
(We will blur out that information on any signs we see in photos you submit.)
We'll be sharing them in groups on Facebook and on our Website as they come in through the end of the week, and into the early part of next week. Send them in no later than Monday at 7 AM for your chance!

Elementary Open Houses and CHS New Student Night are tonight, but that doesn't mean that Taco Tuesday has to go by the wayside.
On Tuesday, September 2nd, (That's today!) the Arizona Tacos Food Truck will be on site at CHS to serve delicious tacos, with a portion of sales benefitting the CHS Class of 2027!

We're back! Today - Tuesday, September 2nd - is Opening Day for staff!
We changed things up a bit by taking our all-staff meeting outdoors this year, with a brief overview of expectations accompanied by laughter, celebration, coffee, and conversation. Our staff will be working on final preparations throughout the day, and into Wednesday!
